Anita Jarrett was born in Durham, NC. She attended and graduated from the Durham Public Schools system. After graduating in 2001 from Charles E. Jordan High School, Anita Jarrett earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She was recognized as Burton Magnet Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2016. She has served as SIT chair, grade chair, and as a Beginning Teacher mentor. She most recently was teaching 3rd Grade at Burton Magnet Elementary in Durham, where she had been teaching for the past 10 years. Anita is currently the Principal Resident at Holt Language Academy in Durham under the supervision and guidance of Principal Donya Jones. Anita can be reached at [email protected].

ANITA IS A FELLOW IN THE NCSU COHORT
The NCSU Cohort is a Master of School Administration program modeled after NC State’s award-winning and nationally-recognized, Northeast Leadership Academy. A grant from the state of NC through the North Carolina Alliance for School Leadership Development (NCASLD) funds the new NCSU Cohort, including full scholarships for the NCSU Cohort’s Fellows. Once they complete the program, NCSU Cohort Fellows will earn a NC school principal license and a Master of School Administration degree.
